Saturday, September 9th, The Houston ‘Goyfs make a road trip for our first tournament hosted by our Austin chapter!

UPDATE 1: In the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey, the entry fee for this tournament has been raised to $25 (and the prize pool along with it). 100% of the entry fees from this tournament will be given to The American Red Cross in support of their relief efforts.

UPDATE 2: As card donations come in, it’s hard to keep updated. Sam will be updating this post approximately once per day.

As per usual, we will be hosted by a local brewery. This time, it’s 4th Tap Brewing Cooperative.

As with Brash, 4th Tap is manned by a bunch of people every bit as nerdy as we are.

But unlike Brash, we’ll be in air conditioning, possibly with a food truck available! (More info as we have it.)

5-8th: If we get 24 or more players, fifth through eight will each get an ISD Snapcaster Mage [PIC]

Raffle:

We will be raffling off all other card donations. As of 5 September, those include:

  • REV Plateau [PIC]
  • LEB Hurricane [PIC]
  • A wealth of signed foreign cards from Team Tusk [PIC] (these will be done in matching sets or individually - not as a lot)
  • $50 store credit to Pat’s Games

Raffle tickets will be $2 or 15 for $25.

Participation Prizes

We also have a box of Eternal Masters to give away. Each round random players will be selected to win a pack. All tickets will be put back in the drawing so you could win more than one!

At least one player outside of the top 4/8 will win a door prize at the end of the event, so be sure to stick around and play out all your matches!

We have a Stanley-Cup-esque playmat. Each tournament, the playmat is be inscribed with the date, location, and winner of the tournament, along with some space for the player to add a doodle. This playmat will be passed each week to the new champion to play with at the next tournament! The finished mat from last season looks like this:

If you or someone you know needs a deck and is too lazy to use a printer or doesn’t know what they want, we usually have a few available to borrow. You’re welcome to take them home. We only ask that you buy us a new pack of sleeves so we can replace the deck.

Decklists are required. We do not perform deck checks but we want lists so we can post them. Have bad handwriting? Use the decklist generator here! Blank deck registration sheets will be available on site. Please don’t put anything on your decklist that you don’t want to be seen publicly as your decklist may be scanned and uploaded in full.

It would be greatly appreciated if your decklist was filled out and ready before our scheduled start time of 1PM.
